PipeChain is owned by the Swedish logistics consulting firm MA-system AB. In 2005, the company acquired Strålfors TradeCom Solutions, a leading supplier of EDI and logistics solutions to the manufacturing and CPG industry, and Emcat e-Business Solutions, a start-up delivering powerful WebEDI solutions to large industrial companies for automating order and delivery processes.

PipeChain was established in 1999. The turnover in 2008 amounted to around € 6 million. PipeChain is a profitable and cash flow generating business.
