Hard and fast methods are mixed with strategies to reap the rewards of the investment that’s already been made. As always, the goal is to reduce lead-times while mainaining or improving service levels.
Speaker: Anders Filmersson, PipeChain AB
Different examples are highlighted to illustrate the effects of optimally configured parameters connected to different types of demand scenarios.

Mekanotjänst IT manager, Pär Åkerstöm shall present the result of a vision he helped to formulate, whereby each of the business units are centrally supported by a fully integrated and real time supply chain collaboration tool. Pär will describe how their PipeChain MultiSite solution is set-up to interface with each of the manufacturing sites’ ERP (Monitor). This platform not only provides real time visibility on the status of fulfillment of customer demands, but also automates and monitors the collaboration processes. Mekanotjänst currently manages a fully automated VMI process with a number of customers and as a next step shall extend the scope to automate the collaboration process also with suppliers.

What is the role of GCI and the implication of the GUSI standard in the CPG sector
Since the last four years, important developments have taken place at a global level to identify and define the best way for CPG Manufacturers, their Suppliers and Service Providers to collaborate in an efficient way. These developments have resulted in the creation and adoption of standard ways of working and communicating called Global Upstream Supply Initiative or GUSI which is managed by the Global Commerce Initiative (GCI).
Speaker: Ruediger Hagedorn, Senior Business Consultant, GCI (Global Commerce Iniative)
Case: Smurfit Kappa Group fully integrated and automated PipeChain SMI in consumer goods

Examples of some of the scenarios we take up;
-How to increase service levels despite reduction of stocks (capital tied)?
-How to minimize non value added manual work?
-How to reduce lead times by increasing transparency of real demand?

1A Set the wheels in motion
There are many companies today that could get their wheels turning faster if they used the power of their supply chain and used their PipeChain tools in a more efficient way. If you’re already using VMI in PipeChain you can get wheels turning faster with surprisingly small resources. We’re talking about three wheels that spin around the user’s daily work, the internal production and delivery process and the external links to customers and suppliers.Hard and fast methods are mixed with strategies to reap the rewards of the investment that’s already been made. As always, the goal is to reduce lead-times while mainaining or improving service levels.
Speaker: Anders Filmersson, PipeChain AB
1B The importance of parameter settings in PipeChain
PipeChain facilitates an extremely efficient supply chain with a minimal amount of work in updating parameters, while service levels remain high and stock optimal despite a change in flows. To ensure optimal effect to keep the right stock it is important to properly configure parameters regarding partnerships, flow behaviours and external events.Different examples are highlighted to illustrate the effects of optimally configured parameters connected to different types of demand scenarios.
Speaker: Jonatan Manna, PipeChain AB

2B Automate order to invoice using WebEDI
The requirements placed on companies for improved efficiency are increasing all the time. Competition is murderous at all levels – between companies, between value chains and between countries. This increased competition makes it even more important to cooperate in the network of companies that forms the value chain made up of your company and its trading partners. It’s not just about working towards optimisation in your own company, but about optimising the entire value chain.During this session we will show how PipeChain’s tools make it possible to automate several business processes related to trade and logistics between your company and its suppliers in a very short time. Using PipeChains’ cost-effective standard services it is possible to reuse many of the EDI investments you made earlier and use them on a wide front towards many suppliers.
