Key dates for the UCC in 2024
PipeChain’s TIS is a complete customs system that supports the various customs procedures, all according to the new regulations that are gradually being introduced under the UCC (Union Customs Code).
Below we list important dates in 2024 that affect the customs sector.
January 28
Transit NCTS phase 5
Phase 5 has been successfully launched in January. You can read more about what it means here:
TIS adapted to NCTS-5
NCTS phase 6 will be implemented from February 3 to September 1, 2025.
March 1
Proof of the customs status of goods PoUS (Proof of Union Status) phase 1 production mode
As of March 1 2024, businesses will have to request the authentication, registration and presentation of digital T2L and T2LF via the Pous system. This applies to Union goods with a value of more than €15,000. The aim of Pous is, among other things, to improve, simplify and streamline the processes of the customs status certificates.

September 2-27
Simplified import declaration launches with an implementation period
The launch of the simplified import declaration is scheduled for September 2, 2024, with an implementation period until September 27, 2024. One of the major changes is that there will be a requirement for a commodity code at the 10-digit level in the simplified declaration.
October 1 – December 2
New export system (AES) is introduced with an implementation period
A new export procedure management system will launch on October 1, 2024 with an implementation period until 2 December 2, 2024. The aim is to adapt export management to the new EU legislation, and the change involves the digital management of export and exit processes.
November 1 – December 31
Registration in the declarant’s records of imports (EIDR) is introduced with an implementation period
The introduction of entry in the declarant’s records for imports takes place on November 1, 2024 with an implementation period until December 31, 2024. There will be a requirement for more detailed information in the records, corresponding to what applies to simplified declarations. There will also be a requirement to submit a notification to Swedish Customs for each entry made in the declarant’s records.
