Summary of TISdagen

There is a first time for everything.

This was the case for myself when I was given the responsibility to plan, organize and execute our customer event TISdagen which was aimed at our customers who use our customs system TIS.

This involved everything from planning content, administering registrations, booking the venue and guest speakers and scheduling individual meetings with our system specialists for customers who wanted it, to making sure that everyone had both food and a roof over their heads.

The biggest challenge of the day arose when I received a message from one of the guest lecturers in the morning that they had fallen ill and unfortunately could not come.

Now I was in a rush to fill the hole in the agenda that had suddenly appeared. I found myself on stage, representing SIH, and based on the presentation material they had sent me, I had to tell them about the education to become a Customs Specialist and what LIA (Learning at Work) is and the benefits of receiving LIA students.

Phew, good thing I don’t have stage fright!

Fortunately, the afternoon did not offer these kinds of surprises. If I had had to fill Lars-Gunnar Nilsson‘s shoes for two and a half hours, my colleagues would probably have had to practice the skills they learned on the CPR course we conducted two years ago. Now I could instead sit back and stick to being a presenter between the various lecture sessions.

My overall impression of TISdagen is that it was an appreciated customer event where everyone present contributed to making it an informative and memorable day with Customs in focus. There were insights, nice and rewarding networking, and good taste experiences during lunch and dinner.

When asked to organize the next TISdagen, I will gladly raise my hand again.
