Longlasting collaboration with Elgiganten

For a quarter of a century, PipeChain SCM Tyringe has had the privilege of working with Birgitta Äng, customs specialist at Elgiganten‘s customs department. Birgitta’s broad competence and deep knowledge in the field of customs has both challenged and supported us in driving the development of our customs system TIS forward to where we are today.

We had the pleasure of meeting Birgitta during Customs Day in Gothenburg 2024, where we took the opportunity to have a chat with her about her role, experiences and collaboration with PipeChain. Here’s what she had to say:

“When I started at Elgiganten Logistik in 2001, I worked with the administrative aspects of customs warehousing, import, export, etc. and then moved on to my role as a customs specialist. I have also been involved in projects with the development of the system TIS, as former Tyringe Konsult was already included in our customs management in 2001.

With TIS the work with the whole customs process has become easier, as the system is easy to understand and work in. Working with PipeChain over the years has been fun, stimulating and educational. They have always listened and taken suggestions and improvements for the development of their system, and the customer service has always been excellent.”

When Birgitta Äng retired in January 2025, she was awarded a “Golden Keyboard” and elected as the first member of PipeChain Tyringe’s TIS Customs Hall of Fame for her many years of work in the customs field, her commitment and constructive cooperation.
