Navigate the new export system with the right customs solution

During the time that a product is taken out of Sweden and the EU, a digital exchange of information takes place. The information exchange takes place in several stages that have different purposes and involve different operators. To ensure customs monitoring of goods leaving the EU’s customs territory, various declarations are required. This process is crucial to ensure that restrictions, trade statistics and security rules are followed according to the requirements of the Swedish Customs Administration. It ensures that all parties involved in the export process comply with regulations and that goods are handled in an accurate and traceable manner.

New export procedure

A new system for the export procedure is introduced to adapt to the new EU legislation.
The system will be introduced on October 1, 2024 with an introduction period until December 2, 2024.

A new process in three steps:

The declarant creates a standard customs declaration and sends it digitally to the Swedish Customs Administration (Tullverket) to get the goods cleared for export.

The carrier submits a notification of goods to the exit customs office at the place of exit with reference to the MRN number of the customs declaration.

The carrier reports to the exit customs office that the goods have left the EU customs area.

It is important that the exporter provides the correct operator with the MRN number of the export declaration and that the operators who leave later stages have the correct information.
