Summary of TISdagen 2025
Reflections from Nils Persson
TISdagen has become an important gathering point for everyone working with customs-related matters. Here, I’d like to share some impressions from this year’s edition, my second time as an organizer, where we collectively created a day marked by knowledge, exchange, and community.
A more confident second time as organizer
After last year’s ‘TISdag’, which was my first time organizing, I gladly raised my hand again when asked to do it once more this year.
With the experience from the previous event, this year ran more smoothly and easily. Luckily, I was spared last year’s challenge of stepping in as a substitute speaker at the last minute, after a guest speaker fell ill the same morning TISdagen was held.

Insights into the customs specialist training program
We had the privilege of receiving information from Hannah Wahlberg and Christina Larsson about the higher vocational education program for customs specialists run by SIH in Malmö.
An important part of this two-year program is the 24-week LIA period (learning in a real work environment), where students complete an internship with a company at the end of their studies.
Positive experiences with LIA interns
Some of the participants had experience hosting LIA interns at their companies, which was seen as a positive and rewarding experience. One point that was emphasized was that companies should not hesitate to accept students for internships.

“1 + 1 = 0.5 in workload”
It was highlighted that it could even be beneficial to bring in two LIA students at the same time, as it has turned out that “1 + 1 = 0.5” in terms of company workload. This is because the students can support each other during the internship period and not rely solely on company guidance.
International perspectives and timely topics
In these times of increased focus on controls, restrictions, and sanctions—as well as the turbulence and uncertainty POTUS has recently brought “over there” in terms of international trade and customs, we were glad to present two additional guest speakers.
We had the privilege of hearing both Malin Madsen and Milad Samadi speak about topics such as export controls, EUDR, CBAM, and the USA & the rest of the world.
These were interesting, informative, and thought-provoking lectures that were greatly appreciated by the events participants. Some of the topics sparked continued discussions during the networking session and dinner afterward.
A customer event to remember
My impression of this year’s TISdag, just like last year, can be summed up as follows:
A well-received customer event where everyone present contributed to making it an informative and memorable day focused on customs.
The day offered insights, enjoyable and fruitful networking, and delightful culinary experiences during lunch and dinner.
Looking forward to seeing you again at the next TISdag.
