The Dashboard that makes a difference

The Dashboard that makes a difference

For over three years, customers in the customs sector have been using PipeChain’s dashboard to gain full control over their customs management. By collecting data and key metrics in one clear overview, the dashboard makes it easy to spot patterns, take timely action, and avoid unnecessary issues. The result is a smoother, more proactive way of working, where you’re always one step ahead.

To make this possible, the dashboard continuously monitors that all systems are functioning properly, that no declarations get stuck along the way, and that everything is submitted to Swedish Customs (Tullverket) on time. In practice, this means you get a complete view of the status of all documents and can act immediately when something requires attention.

“I use the Dashboard every day, as it gives me a quick overview of whether any transactions need attention or are in process.”
— Eleni Eriksson, Customs Manager at Logistikpartner

Examples of messages in the dashboard

Error: Indicates that there are documents with an error status. These may need to be corrected and resent or handled in another way.

Warning: Means that Swedish Customs has sent back a response placing the document in a warning status. To determine if action is needed, you must open the system and review the document. In some cases, it’s enough to wait for further processing by Customs; in others, immediate action is required.

Request/Missing Information: Indicates that Swedish Customs has requested additional information.

Accepted: Documents that have been received by Swedish Customs but are not yet fully approved and are awaiting further response.

Unsent: Exports that exist in TIS but have not yet been sent.

In Progress: Declarations that have been sent but for which no response from Swedish Customs has yet been received.

In Progress > 10 min: Declarations waiting for a response for more than 10 minutes (normally, Customs responds within this time). If a backlog occurs here, the issue may lie with the customer, with us, or with Customs.

Documents: Number of declarations handled during the day.

Import controls

For imports, there are also controls in place to ensure that every step is completed correctly, preventing late submission fees from Swedish Customs. One example is the monitoring of “Outstanding IFDPs,” which must not remain unresolved for more than ten days (according to Customs regulations). The system can also be configured to trigger earlier warnings before the time limit is exceeded.

A clear trend forward

As more companies share their experiences, we’ve also seen a clear trend: over the past year, more and more have discovered the value of using a dashboard in their daily operations. Usage can vary, from real-time activity monitoring to supporting strategic decision-making or serving as an analytical tool for identifying trends.

The dashboard can be customized with different parameters, metrics, and graphs to match your specific needs. And today, it’s available to everyone, offered as an add-on in all modules of our TIS system solution: Trade, Automotive, Customs, and Transport.
